Description

WATERLOO Quelle Affaire!

It's the morning of the 16th of June 1815. The vast French army under Napoleon Bonaparte is arrasyed for battle in the fields near the little Belgian village of Waterloo. On the ridge facing them are the allied troops of Britain, Holland, Belgium and several small German states, commanded by the Duke of Wellington. Outnumbered and outgunned, the British have the defensible terrain in their favour, but more importantly, they have the promise of Marshal Blücher to bring his Prussian army to the battlefield before the day is over. Will the Grande Armée manage to smash Wellington's defensive line before help arrives?

The fate of Europe hangs in the balance.

Waterloo - Quelle Affair!, designed by Origins awards winner Alessio Cavatore and illustrated by Peter Dennis, is a hex-based boardgame that allows two players to recreate what is arguably the most famous battle in history. Combat and movement are extremely simple and gameplay is fast - all the information necessary is on the counters and on the cards themselves - no complex charts to look up results on. Victory is easier for the French when only one army faces them. However, if Wellington's forces survive long enoough for the Prussians to finally arrive, the tip of the scales wil swing in favour of the Allies. But nobody can be sure exactly when the Prussians are going to appear in the east...
